How Equine Massage Affects the Body:

How Equine Massage Affects the Body:

  • Relief from Tension and Soreness: Just like humans, horses can develop muscle tension and soreness due to physical activity, injuries, or daily wear and tear. Equine massage helps release tension, alleviating discomfort and promoting relaxation.
  • Enhanced Flexibility: By targeting specific muscle groups, massage can improve a horse's flexibility and range of motion, enabling smoother and more graceful movements.
  • Improved Circulation: Massage stimulates blood flow, which in turn aids in the delivery of essential nutrients and oxygen to muscles. This can accelerate the healing process and reduce the risk of injury.
  • Release of Toxins: Massage can assist in the removal of toxins and metabolic waste products from the muscles, further promoting overall health.

Balancing the Equine Athlete:

Beyond the physical benefits, equine massage also plays a crucial role in achieving balance. A horse in balance is a healthier, more responsive, and more successful athlete. Here's how equine massage contributes to balance:

  • Alignment: Massage helps identify and correct imbalances in a horse's musculoskeletal system, ensuring that the horse moves symmetrically and efficiently.
  • Mind-Body Connection: Massage can help horses relax mentally, reducing stress and anxiety, which can positively impact their behavior and performance.
  • Improved Performance: A balanced horse is more likely to perform at its best, whether in the show ring, on the trail, or in any equine discipline.

At AGI Equine Performance, we work hard to enhance your horse's body and balance with proven massage and energy techniques. Witness the positive transformation in your horse's well-being and performance with our dedicated care.

PLAN A VISIT

WHAT TO EXPECT

Some basic information that can help you better plan ahead.

  • How soon can I ride my horse after a session?

Most horses will get full benefit of the work if they have at least 24 to 48 hours of rest before resuming riding.

  • How should I prepare for a session?

Having your horse groomed and reasonably clean will help provide the best experience.

  • Can I be present during the massage session, or should I leave my horse with the therapist?

Yes, you are absolutely welcome to be present during your horse's massage session if you wish. We understand that some horses tend to relax more when their owners are nearby. Your presence can provide comfort and reassurance to your horse during the session. However, it's important to note that some horses may also relax better without distractions, so we leave the choice entirely up to you. Our experienced equine massage therapist is skilled at working with horses in a variety of settings, and their primary goal is to ensure the well-being and comfort of both you and your horse during the session. If you choose to be present, you can observe the massage process and ask any questions you may have.
